I'm going to side with 94% of all scientists...and 100% of meteorologists on this one.
I'm really sad that there is such a disconnect between the scientific community (to whom anthropogenic global warming is a fact, not a controversy) and the general public. But I'm working to bridge the gap as best I can. If anyone has tips, let me know.
Global warming, IF partially caused by man, can be attributed to all the hot air produced by hypocrits like Gore.
HAH... I posted from the first page taratova - Great Minds!

I can't believe people still can't connect the huge financial gains this pseudo-science is generating. Scientists first decide they have an idea, then set out to prove it. After they find even a sliver of possibility they get grants , and then it's off to the races to keep the idea floating. It was global cooling in the 50-60-70s, but there was far more money to be made on the other side of the thermometer, so they (scienctists) all jumped ship. They are nothing more than speculators using elements instead of oil and minerals, to make their fortunes.
My personal conservatism aside for the moment, I belive that climate change is a scientificaly demonstrable fact, and needs some serious study, but that reseach need not be either very immediate nor very costly.
And as soon as some collection of impressionable teenyboppers, led around by the nose by those ridiculous "polar bear" commercials are pushed toward center stage by Al Gore and other manipulators within the Loony Left, I can just as easily leave the room.
I was first made aware of the possible effects of atmospheric concentrations of CO2 as a sixth-grader -- all the way back in 1961, and the issue was raised occasionally during my undergraduate years, which coincided with the first Earth Day. But as no less a forward-thinker as the late William Buckley observed, when the Liberal-Radical Axis espoused what had, until then, been referred to as the respectable idea known as "conservation" .... a lot of us decided to separate ourselves somewhat from the stink that blew into the neighborhood.
Climate change is real -- but nobody who responds to the buzz phrase "global warming" wants to explain the "little ice age" of 700-900 AD, which can't be linked to human activity. Somewhere within that controversy, there are real facts to be discerned and saved for the next fluctuation -- which could just as easily go in the opposite direction, and which would be a far greater threat to civilization.
It's not as appealing for bureaucrats seeking to feather their nests, however.
It's caused by too many people not changing their underwear daily even though mom always reminded them every morning to do so.
Remember, though, you can get two days out of it by wearing it inside out.
