I can't speak to what either minister would do, but I heard Rev. Sharpton, in person, say that Zimmerman needs to tell his account to the judge.
I agree.
Here's the probelm with that. Just for argument's sake, let's say that Zimmerman is in fact 100% guilty of murder. The prosecutors have to convince a jury, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Zimmerman is guilty. If they currently had enough evidence to prove this, they would have arrested him by now. There is either something we don't know, or they do not have enough evidence to charge him yet. Assuming he is guilty, the prosecutors need to make damn sure they have everything they need BEFORE they charge him, otherwise if enough reasonable doubt remains (and from what I've seen it does), he will walk. So if he's guilty, it's better to have people upset that nothing has been done yet than to enter a trial before they're prepared and have a murderer walk. I don't think anyone wants that. The FBI is now involved. People need to have faith that if there is justice to be done, it will be done.
TWhat I mean is that I find it very puzzling that anyone 5'9" would see a young man 6 ft or taller, consider him to be suspicious and up to no good (his words) assume he's on drugs (his words) say he has something in his waistline (his words) but still follow him in the dark.
we don't know how Trayvon was acting. since it was zimmerman that reported the incident, then we know that zimmerman saw in his eyes a suspicious person.
to me, if a person walks from car to car looking in the window, that would look very suspicious. it wouldn't matter how much that person weighs or what age that person is. apparently, zimmerman didn't care about weight and age, he was more concerned of the actions of that person. if you have ever kept your eye on a suspicious person before, then you can relate to zimmerman.
The latest on the racial slur is that gz said 'f'ing punks.'

Tomorrow we'll hear it's flaky scones. Honestly, does it matter? What matters is who was calling for help and any other evidence that can provide proof that it was or was not self defense like blood spatter, bullet trajectory and eyewitness testimony.
I've only posted so much about Zimmerman and his past history because it frightens me that there are people in Florida with a history of felony arrests and domestic abuse who have legal gun permits.
You can see the records on the Orange County Clerk of Courts
I copied and pasted.
CR-RESISTING OFFICER WITH VIOLENCE
BATTERY ON LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
CR-RESISTING OFFICER WITHOUT VIOLENCE
There are other records listed such as Domestic Abuse (closed) and a couple of traffic violations. Sorry folks, but why wouldn't any normal person be suspicious that someone has been covering this man's behind for years? If one of us punched a law enforcement officer and shouted profanity, we wouldn't get off so easily.

Reason: fix post. no charges filed/domestic abuse

Where the heck did you get that? Now you are making up something that is in no police record whatsoever. He was not walking around looking into cars. Zimmerman never said that in the 911 tape. He said he was walking around looking at the buildings.
If people were really that concerned about their children dying violently they would concentrate on other crimes besides the rare racial profiling instigated death. The fact is our drug war is responsible for most homicides among young men. The people involved in the Martin case have a political agenda that does not give a damn about saving lives.
90% of the time when a black adolescent is killed it is by another black adolescent.
Did you not see that I included Polly Klass, a white child taken from her bedroom at night, and Laci Peterson, killed by her husband just before her due date? We as Americans are tired of burying our children, no matter their age, race, religion or gender. It's a sad commentary when people are so entrenched in their beliefs that they're unable to see that this problem
is everywhere...a dear friend's niece was shot and killed two weeks ago by her police dispatcher boyfriend...both of them white. As with the tragedy in Sanford, the family is having to pressure authorities to do something.
Take off those race blinders and begin to pay attention...people are
dying senselessly every day, and each one has grieving parents, family and friends. It may take time, but love defeats hate in the final analysis.

Since Angela Corey has brought into the case, I guess we shall see. I'm not saying he is guilty or innocent. But a group of three decided on a Sunday night that charges should not have been made, when the officer on duty wanted to arrest him. Conspiracy? I don't know. The feds can look into that.
The whole thing stinks to me, but I've lived in the south a long time. He needs to tell it to the judge. And, hopefully, he will have that opportunity.

that is an example. if you have ever watched a suspicious person, then you will know that weight and age of a suspicious person is not that much of a concern. their actions are....
i did not say Trayvon was looking into cars. i'm saying that suspicious people act suspiciously. zimmerman was not focusing on the person's age or weight. that had nothing to do with Trayvon being suspicious. it was Trayvon's actions that were suspicious to zimmerman.
let me say this in simpler terms:
zimmerman saw trayvon doing suspisious things, such as looking at houses during a night when most people stay indoors (dark, cold and rainy). zimmerman describes that Trayvon is acting suspicious. zimmerman did not tell dispatch that Trayvon is a teen and is tall which makes him suspicious. it was Trayvon's actions that zimmerman thought was suspicious.
one more time: zimmerman reported that Trayvon was acting suspicious. Trayvon's age and weight had nothing to do with it.
don't take my example as what i think Trayvon was doing. it was just an example of a suspicious act.
Ask a stupid question...but I'll give you a smart answer. I think it will be quite awhile before higher authoriteis must be called to run parallel investigations in small town USA due to the fact that the police department was so inept that the chief got a vote of no confidence.
Obviously the SYG law must be reviewed so that it is clearer in its intent.
Can you name a black on white shooting/violent incident that has received this kind of coverage? Besides OJ - no celebrities please.
I'll take ANY national coverage of a black on white shooting etc..
I know of two recent shootings - the story above and a shooting a 16 year old neighborhood kid by his black neighbor - shot him in the back and black neighbor found innocent. That story got no national coverage.

Trayvon Martin didn't live in that gated community. How difficult is it to
believe that he was looking at the houses to see the numbers and street names in order to find his way back to his father?
