I keep wondering where the numbers that the media loves to report come from although I know they come from our government. All those strange tools they use to determine the growth of jobs amaze me. Seasonally adjusted is the silliest of them all but the way they get the numbers seems to be the real reason they can report some of the growth they report.

I have seen lately that there are two real ways used to count jobs and employed numbers, etc. Two ways that cause hugely different numbers to result are: survey of households and survey of employers. The numbers of jobs in our "recovery" seem to all come from using survey of households and not looking at the fact that many of those surveyed have dropped out of the job seeking numbers. When will we see some truth in this reporting?

Yes, those silly economists. The economic community is screaming about this. Oh no, wait they're not. They should be listening to you right? Did you pass high school? Those silly intelligent economists who did well in high school, spent all those years studying economic theory in college, teaching economics to others, doing research, publishing peer reviewed articles, etc. I'm sure you know better than they do, right?

I'm always puzzled by people who are fascinated by things like this. They could have taken some personal responsibility, studied in high school, gone to college and learned about things. They didn't and they commonly sit around living on the taxes of those that did spouting theories that make no sense.

I'm curious to know where all those unemployed are. I know literally hundreds, if not thousands of people across the country and I don't know a single one who is unemployed involuntarily. Not one.

Where is this "recession?"

Well, there are unemployed. They are not mythical. How do you know thousands of people and their job status? You a teamsters member or something? So you think everything is fine and hunky?

Do you go to church? Most churches could tell you a bit about homeless and unemployed.

No, I'm not a union man at the present, but I am outgoing, gregarious and involved in a lot of organizations. I literally do not know a single, solitary person who is unemployed against his will. And, yes I go to church.

Oh, sure. I know lots of people who are not working, but it's not because they can't find a job...it's because they're either comfortable on unemployment or can't find a job THEY WANT TO DO. When times are really hard and people really want to work, they're not quite so selective.

This sounds like the same kind of comments I hear where people state nobody is homeless by choice.

If you don't know anybody who has lost their job, lost or almost lost their house out of thousands you know I think you are living in a self-created bubble. Unemployment is not "comfortable". Though it has been better lately than in past. Some states are better than others with unemployment. Depending on the state and situation plenty of people aren't eligible for unemployment.

Govt spending really took off in 2009. Though it was creeping prior to that.

US Government Spending: Total, Federal, State, Local for 2012 - Charts
Now it is down to 40%. We had jobs really take off out of this country really fast from about 2000 on. Look at the BDI and gas prices etc.. and this is hardly a recovery to me. Without real jobs coming back we are in big trouble. Since we have the highest corporate tax and fairly high costs I don't see much in that direction. No real favorable change in import and export situation either.

2009 Spending

Federal Gross Spending 25% GDP
Intergovernmental -4% GDP
State Direct Spending 10% GDP
Local Direct Spending 12% GDP
Total Spending 43% GDP

The debt situation isn't rosy either.

Somehow I don't think you managed to read any of that link, but then that is typical liberal behavior. Your response makes you sound a lot like that enraged black woman I just spent 6 minutes listening to on another thread.

Is there a chance that you could say something about what the link says and not just attack the messenger? Well, I guess not because of your liberalness.

More liberal deflection with no mention of the link. Oh well, I have more to do the rest of the afternoon than read from you deflectors anyway.
