Pretty pathetic, all right. I've learned not to expect much better.
I'm always a bit surprised that these dolts don't know that it's a gene-sequence that was REMOVED from these crops that makes them tolerant to RoundUp. It was NOT something that was ADDED.
Despite the Chicken Little hype of this ridiculous link, the fact is this: EVERY crop is "genetically modified" and has been for at least 100 years.
This is nothing new, and nothing scandalous. City folks just recently found out about it, and decided to use it as their next great thing to panic about.
Theres a big difference between hybridization and manipulating the dna in a lab.
Besides, this isn't about panic, this is about informed decisions. People want to know what they are consuming. Monsanto is fighting as hard as they can to keep people in the dark.
Big corporations fought hard against ever having to actually list the ingredients in food. Then they fought having to list the nutritional information in their food. Now they want to fight having to say if their food contains GMO products. I am against regulating what people eat, but I agree that people should at least be able to find out what they are eating.
What was the outcome in Vermont? The legislators decided they can't afford a lawsuit?
