Question News, How much do you like pop up ads on your cell phone?

I hate pop-up ads on the internet let alone on my cell phone.

Ads to pop up on your cell phone.

Advertising companies discover way to beam ads through Bluetooth.

PARIS - Your mobile phone may be one of the last spots around that's relatively free of advertising — but not for long.

Media and advertising companies have found a way of latching on to people's handsets by beaming ads to them via Bluetooth, the same technology used in some hands-free headsets.

Here's how it works: When you're standing less than 10 meters away from a Bluetooth interactive billboard, window display or concert hall booth, you'll be asked if you want to switch on your Bluetooth function and accept a file. That file could be a video, a song or an offer of rebate coupons.

As long as they have a setting to block those popups, then I dont care, as long as it dosent affect the funcitonality of my phone. If I have to press any buttons to get rid of the popup, or if it makes noise, then i'll get a phone from a company that dosen't allow it.

Never got one, and I think I'd throw mine out the window if it did. I rarely use it anyway. We have been fooled into thinking cell phones are a necessity in life. They are if you let them be, or if your job demands it. Otherwise, its a piece of technology that humans did just fine without form thousands of years.

I will not tolerate ads to keep my phone.
