What is this? Fidel isn't even relevant. The Cold War has been over for over 20 years. Hell, Fidel Castro hasn't been a threat to the US since the missile crisis.

MIAMI — Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen has been suspended for five games because of his comments about Fidel Castro. He has again apologized and says he accepts the punishment.
The suspension by the team takes effect immediately. It was announced Tuesday, shortly before Guillen was to hold a news conference to explain his remarks, which caused an uproar in South Florida.
Guillen told Time magazine he loves Castro and respects the retired Cuban leader for staying in power so long. At least two local officials said Guillen should lose his job.
Guillen told the news conference his comments were misinterpreted by the reporter, and he doesn't love or admire Castro. Guillen said the episode has left him sad and embarrassed.
Old Ozzie's big mouth finally got him in trouble. I've never been to Maimi but am smart enought to not go parading around babbling about how great Castro is. LOL. Foot firmly implanted in his mouth that's for sure. This isn't about freedom of speech it's about being an idiot. LOL. The team was being heavily marketed to the cuban populace around there and he pulls this zinger. I think they can express their freedome of spending and stay home from the games which is what the GM and owner are now worried about. LOL
Meh...he has the right the feel the way he does. I don't really care why any non-Cuban American would care about this anyway. Hell, i doubt many of the young ones even care one way or the other.
It's not like he didn't tell the truth. But i wouldn't be so quick to say something like that if i was in his position. Something are just better kept to self.
Funny thing is how Miami is such a pathetic sports town anyway. If the Marlins aren't winning big, you can hear echo's in that stadium. If they're marketing themselves to the local Cuban population, it aint working too well anyway....Castro comments or not.

He should have known the Miami situation and it's Cuban-American sentiments, but - this whole thing is just stupid. It's a free country. Let the man have his opinion.
How many games would he be suspended if he said he loved Barack?
