And how do some of you notice what type of card the person in front of you use? As many times that I have grocery shopped, I never fixate my eyes on what card they use. I'm too busy placing my groceries on the counter.
I didn't make it this far in life by walking around with my eyes closed oblivious to everything that was going on around me. If you pay attention sometime, you might actually find that many things will infuriate you. At that point, you might start to understand just how far off the tracks this nation has become. Sadly, there are too many people like you walking around without nary a clue as to what's actually going on.

Banks, the people and the government were ALL to blame for what happened.

Ever wonder why the foreclosures correlate highly to the states that had the biggest decrease in housing values?

We could have paid off every mortgage, every student loan, with the money we gave the banks. We could have fixed the roads, funded pensions, helped the poor, made this country a better place. Hell, even if you don't believe in all that, we could have bought some pretty cool new toys. Instead, our tax dollars were divvied up among the already rich to pay off bad bets.

This drug dealer can pay for whatever the hell he wants with his piddling government assistance, it's just flies feeding on a corpse.
This is where your rant unravels. Taxpayer dollars didn't go to the "already rich to pay off bad debts." They went to corporations that needed toxic assets removed from the books and liquidity injected into the credit markets. There was a reason for that. If they had the money, then there would have been no need for bailouts. It's really as simple as that. Somewhere along the way, you're conflating several different issues. Just because it serves to complete your erroneous thought process and class warfare theme, it does not mean that it's accurate.

A convicted drug dealer — who cops said wanted to use cash from his taxpayer-funded EBT card to post bail — is the new face of welfare abuse, according to tough-minded lawmakers who are pushing the reform-resistant Patrick administration for a crackdown.

Kimball Clark, 45, was locked up Friday on drug-dealing charges — again — when he was overheard using his one phone call to ask the person on the other end of the line to “get my EBT card and go to the ATM and get the money to bail me out, get me outa here tonight,” according to a Boston police report........

When you discover there's a bug in the system that users can exploit, you fix the bug, right? Create different cards. Or systems that can process A but not B.

This topic is about an issue with use of the EBT cards. If you want to start a thread complaining about bailouts, bonuses, etc than have at it. We may even have common ground there. What is your angle on trying to change the subject? Do you support the use of EBT cards in this manner?

Fact is if you fit the income guidelines you can get on the train. I'm sure there were times in my life when I was younger I could have signed up for the freebies but chose to gut it out. I guess if I had a family during those time things would have been different. I had no problem living off ramens, mac n cheese and frozen pizza's. When you see stories about folks using em at casino's and like this one a guy using it for bail it puts a bad light on those that do need it. Like most democrat feel good programs it's passed to help the po widdle chirin but in the end the money never gets to em. Just like all the food aid sent to Africa that sits in warehouses controlled by dictators. All for the children.
