NC Democrats' director resigns, denies harassment (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2012/04/15/national/a184635D04.DTL - broken link)
As far as that UK paper, it seems to be their mission to embarass the US, something I would think most of us would not like. I'm not just talking about this story.
Have you seen the story on CNN, ABC, NBC, MSNBC?
The local news outlets are covering the story...the national MAJOR press is not..so far.
North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue has now called on her North Carolina Democratic Party (NCDP) Chairman David Parker to resign, according to local news reports.
But earlier, she didn't want to talk about it, said it was an "internal" affair and told a reporter to "get over it".
This is blowing up spectacularly for the dems in NC, who have monumental hopes in the fall.
A former staffer accused the state Democratic Party’s executive director of showing him a picture of male genitals, caressing his leg and discussing his sexual exploits, according to new documents obtained by The News & Observer.
The lascivious details magnified the spectacle embarrassing the state Democratic Party in an election year and came just days before President Barack Obama is expected to visit North Carolina.
“I believe that the sexual harassment towards me created an offensive, hostile work environment,” Ortega wrote.
Well....this story comes at a most opportune time.

How could it be any more embarrassing than "Fast and Furious", the GSA fiasco, the Secret Service orgy, etc? What's surprising about a gay Democrat? I almost assume that anymore...

You post a humorous post but this time you managed to admit that you didn't read much of the post you answered or the link, either.
Ah, the OP features statements such as "apparently" and "IF they" and here you are with "there is a possibility"
You folks really enjoy building on a foundation of cards, eh?
So, there was a settlement, agreed on by all parties, with a confidentiality agreement within the settlement.
So, basically, the controversy is that there is a perverted North Carolina democrat. Um, there are a lot of perverted politicians. All horrible, but surprising?

It's about sexual harassment and the dems trying desperately to cover it up. The cat is out of the bag now though.

Why, just build it on what the democrats are saying and doing.
Gov. Bev Perdue was a day late and a dollar short expressing concern about sexual harassment allegations at N.C. Democratic Party headquarters.
The scandal that cost party Executive Director Jay Parmley his job Sunday took an even more distressing turn when Perdue finally broke her inappropriate silence late Tuesday and revealed that she had known about the allegations since December. Later Tuesday she called for party Chairman David Parker to resign – the same chairman who served with Perdue’s blessing since he briefed her about the whole affair last year.
See, ONLY when it became public did the courageous NC dems act.
Can't have this sexual harassment/payoff/cover up interfere with the dems convention, can we?
National Democrats, attempting to head off an embarrassing story in their host convention state, are preparing to push out the embattled North Carolina Democratic Chairman in the wake of a sexual harassment scandal involving the state party’s former executive director.
Obama officials had stayed out of the scandal, but intervened Wednesday night when salacious details about the harassment claim leaked to North Carolina news outlets.
The staffer was FIRED after complaining about being sexual harassed.
