The sad part is that our competitiors have no qualms about instituting rigorous exams to tease out the best of the best. The Chinese for example have been using such tests for thousands of years to select their civil servants. The Brits used to have a similar testing system but alas these test were viewed as discriminatory.

In America tests that test for basic and objective knowledge such as math have been denounced as racist because few members of a select minority group can pass them. I guess actually instituting rigorous methods of perperation for these exams is simply too difficult.

What are you going to do, such are the times we live in.

Edward A, you my friend, are one very wise and astute person. We need more people as you, who feel as you do.

It is good to know that some on here, actually have the knowledge as you do. I don't see you as someone who blames others for any misfortunes you may enctounter. And i don't see you as someone, who points those dang fingers, and plays at the blame game, which is so overly used.

Actually, this nation has historically failed at treating its people like human beings. Slavery, Jim Crow segregation, being denied the right to vote. Don't you ever consider the historical issues that this nation has had?

There are alot of White people in this nation who don't want a Black president, period. The hatred goes both ways.

There are a lot of these kinds of incidents. Perhaps the most egregious was the case of Victor Steen in Pensacola, FL who was riding his bike and refused to stop when a policeman told him to stop. The cop then tasered him, he fell off his bike and the cop ran over him with his car killing him.

And during Hurricane Katrina, one unarmed black family was shot on the Danzinger Bridge.

I will put it in this context. There are many issues that take place in the Black community, that need to be resolved, and should be done not for anyone else, but for Black people to live better lives. I do not deny the fact that crime, out-of-wedlock births, etc are plaguing Black people.

However, the things you mentioned are very prevalent issues for Black people as well. Discrimination and racism against Blacks has not gone away. When people try to deny that or try to justify its existence, that angers me.

I never said it made it right. I only said it goes both ways.
