According to the Guttmacher Institute, the research propaganda arm of Planned Parenthood, fully 85% of all abortions in the United States are performed for unmarried mothers.

Eighty-five (85) percent!

Clearly, then, a vital avenue for reducing abortions is to defend and restore the institution of marriage and the exclusive place of sexual expression within marriage. In other words, there must be a herculean effort at every level to socially, legally, and educationally discourage sexual activity outside of marriage. Frankly, until this cultural shift takes place, even legal sanctions against abortion will fail.

Just wanted to get that out there.

Religious extremism will get you nowhere with most people. Besides, haven't you ever been/had teenagers? Forbid them to do something and it's the first thing they'll do when you aren't watching.

It's not "religious extremism", it's common sense. Sex outside of marriage leads to the killing of unborn children, even in our contraception-saturated society. Period. Even Guttmacher admits as much.

It's not true that teenagers automatically do whatever is forbidden to them. That's one of the biggest lies of our time and sells young people short. I was a teenager once and now have three teenagers of my own. The key is to inculcate a respect for authority - something our educational system, founded in rebellion, fails miserably at.

There is no such thing as same-sex "marriage", MiamiRob. Legalizing this fiction only further erodes respect for real marriage. But you knew that already.

OP, I'm assuming you never had any sexual relations outside of marriage?

As for everything else, how exactly would you manage this? Force people to get married? Perhaps have government mandated matching? Since women do get pregnant after being raped maybe we should force them to cover themselves up so they don't tempt men, and if they do get pregnant they should have to marry their rapist and raise the child so the statistics don't get messed up. Or, maybe women should have to stay inside and only be allowed out if escorted by a male family member.

Yeah, that should solve everything.

What is 'real' marriage?

Is marriage performed at City Hall 'real'?

Is a matrriage like one of the adulterous Newtie Boy's 'real'?

Who decides what 'real' marriage is?
