That's $2 billion just for security purposes. Afghanistan also wants $1.5bn for reconstruction projects and an additional $500m for administrative costs. Wars have consequences. Still think the Afghan war was worth it? Lost soldiers, lost money, lost reputation; gained another antagonistic leader of the middle east to contend with.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Tuesday said he wanted "at least $2 billion" a year from the United States after it withdraws its troops in 2014...
...Karzai's comments came a day after he laid most of the blame for an 18-hour assault by squads of Taliban insurgents in Kabul Sunday on intelligence failures by NATO forces.
Ok ... but only if the US Congress is allowed the final say on Afghan affairs, meaning Afghanistan becomes a US colony and we get to exploit their natural resources and land.
