That's $2 billion just for security purposes. Afghanistan also wants $1.5bn for reconstruction projects and an additional $500m for administrative costs. Wars have consequences. Still think the Afghan war was worth it? Lost soldiers, lost money, lost reputation; gained another antagonistic leader of the middle east to contend with.

Let's not learn our lesson though; Off to Iran!

Karzai wants 'at least $2 billion' a year from US - Yahoo! News

Quote:
Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Tuesday said he wanted "at least $2 billion" a year from the United States after it withdraws its troops in 2014...

...Karzai's comments came a day after he laid most of the blame for an 18-hour assault by squads of Taliban insurgents in Kabul Sunday on intelligence failures by NATO forces.

It's a whole lot cheaper than being attacked, that's for sure.

Ok ... but only if the US Congress is allowed the final say on Afghan affairs, meaning Afghanistan becomes a US colony and we get to exploit their natural resources and land.

Still want the $2 billion Taliban puppet boy?
