What is to prevent Fox from becoming a victim of this amendment if the people deciding what is corporate political involvement are of the same opinion as yourself?

My point was, Fox News has been doing what you think might happen. Are you still not getting it?
But really, why do you think money is speech, and buying politicians and policies is constitutional? THAT is the issue.
Kkaos2 is right. the amendment would in fact contradict the first amendment and limit not just campaign contributions, but the free speech rights of corporations as well as the people.
Ignoring that it would not touch the free speech rights of people, it is an amendment. If it didn't change the Constitution, it would be pointless.
Amending the Constitution is a necessity after the terrible supreme court ruling that basically said corporations are people too and gave them the same rights as citizens of the U.S. The Citizens United case involved a law enacted by both Republicans and Democrats and the activist members on the Supreme Court overturned it. The only way to over rule the Supreme Court is to amend the Constitution. Why are people criticizing this?.

Corporations have been people for hundreds of years.. Why is that such a shock to so many liberals?
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
so where in this amendment does it say that corporations have no right to free speech? remember that corporations are run by PEOPLE, and it is the PEOPLE of the corporation that donate money to political causes.

Furthermore, the English rule of law which is what our legal foundation is formed on, has recognied a Corporations and their right to free speach going back hndreds of years, and now some liberal kooks want to change it simply because they dont like what is being said. Waaaa... liberal crybabies..
