I sure as hell was not gonna waste a bottle of Makers on his azz!
If you'd used a good Laphroaig cask strength the peat may well have killed him (typed while sipping 3 fingers of Maker's over a lonely ice cube...and enjoying every sip).

Bahahahahahaha!!!!!!!
That is actually a true story, it happened in the mid 80s while I was still in college.
Laphroaig wasnt something the regulars of that particular bar were familiar with, it was in Louisville.
The guy was the boyfriend of the owner, I was closing the bar, I just picked up what was handy.....I will admit, I did take the bottle of Makers home that night.

Hope it was one of the appropriately sized 1500ml bottles.
Sorry to hear the regulars of that Louisville bar were unfamiliar with Laphroaig. It's truly the gift of the kilted gods.

Nah, it was a speed rail liter bottle, but it was full.
This particular bar was located close to Churchill Downs.
As one can imagine, I didnt work there long after the incident, I went to work at the Seelbach bar; Seelbach Hilton Louisville - a Four-Star Kentucky Hotel
It was a MUCH more civilized place, the regulars drank LOTS of Laphroaig, among other genteel spirits, and tipped appropriately.

Glad to see you moved up. I'm of the mind everyone should appreciate and drink lots of Laphroaig. It was a prime contributor to at least a couple of my marriages and the bulk of my divorces (consider the latter moments of clarity.....or be more realistic and label me as the azzhole I am).
Life oughtn't be a bump free road. Long live the spirits of Islay!

I learned about real Scotch when I lived in Europe in 83/84.
Nectar of the gods.
OP, would you be offended if they said, "Wow! You are hung like a horse!".....just curious
