That it totally untrue about Palin. McCain would have lost by a greater margin if he wouldn't have picked her. She boosted his poll numbers when he selected her. He made the fatal blunder of suspending his campaign at the objection of his staff and Palin to go vote on the bailout. That sealed his fate. As far as Bush 1, he was a TBF Avenger Torpedo Bomber pilot in WW2. He eventually was shot down by the Japanese and rescued at sea by a American submarine. His co pilot in the rear was killed when he couldn't bail out.
