he stated that when he was in Europe and was interviewed with the Dutch prime minister. He praised the Dutch health system and public transportation system which are all owned byt the government and that is why the people in Holland pay such a high taxes...!
taxes are paid by the weight of the car Vehicle Registration in US for license plates works to a lesser degree like this, especially for pick-up trucks and commercial vehicles.
taxes are paid on gas Federal fuel tax in US is slush fund, not lock box.
taxes are paid to drive on the road every year Coming in 2015 with the passage of the transportation bill (black boxes to tax drivers by the mile)
taxes are paid when you pay a car... A county sales tax in the US
taxes are paid for every dog that you own etc. Local/county license fees already apply.
VAT is incl. in every sale so most people don't even realize how high it is and most people think that health care is for free since partial payments are taken out of the pay check before the employee gets it in their account and the other part is paid by the employer. Obama administration via HHS is seeking additional 2% tax on all medically related treatments/transactions.
If any employee had to pay it after receiving a pay check people will react different!
Got a link to prove that?
BTW, real thoughtful of you to provide a link in Dutch.
The article is tha translation that the newspaper gave me. it is all over the internet so use google! the link will stay in Dutch since that is how the article was written...
But isn't it that many Americans love Holland....
Red light district with hookers who have to pay taxes!
Marijuana in coffee shops with 21% VAT soon instead of 19%
First country to legalize gay marriages which by the way has to paid 21% VAT for at city hall!
Buy a ticket for metro, tram, bus or train and pay 21% VAT tax.
I wonder how much fun it will be with gas prizes that are already approx. 3 x a gallon if you compare it the US.

How typical.
Make a claim and then fail to back it up.
I thought Holland kinda sucked all the times I've been there.
You must have liked it, though.

2011 dog license
This year CijferNieuws.nl an investigation into the dog tax in the Netherlands. The average rate in 2011 increased slightly to 44.43 euros for the first dog-dog. For the second dog count municipalities average more than 65 euros. Not all municipalities levy dog license. Over 70% of municipalities in the Netherlands do so. To be precise, 296 of the 418 municipalities. The dog license was is again less popular. In Nieuwegein and the former municipalities Sneek, Bolsward, Nijefurd & Wymbritseradeel the tax was abolished. Venray, Heerhugowaard and the new municipality Oldambt have already abolished the tax in 2010. In 2009 bought the six municipalities blaftax off. Rotterdam has the highest rate this year with over 117 euros for a dog. In Koggenland you pay 25 euros per year for your first dog.
--------------
2012 is probably even higher...so if I compare this to the $ 5.00 dog tag I pay per dog in the County I live in....wow that is heaven compared to the $ 100.- +, I would be paying in Holland...by the way they have a government employee go door to door to ring the bell and see if a dog starts barking and if so they will mail you a ticket!
What else do you like or want to compare with a socialist country?

Do you now or have you ever lived in the Netherlands?
Do you now or have you ever lived in the Netherlands?
Born and lived there for over 30 years so I know what i'm talking about...Worked as an employee in multiple businesses and also had a couple of businesses that we owned and was very happy to sell them and become a business owner in the USA!
Land of the free as long as Obama will not stay too long!
A bloated welfare state is bringing it all down. You can handle elderly and disabled people, but you can't keep many people on a dole anywhere.
Most all citizens of all countries need to be productive. That doesn't happen when taxes are huge and they give people's wages to others who are less inspired to work.
All of the above is the death of a nation; many nations in fact.

So you are obviously aware that the vast majority of the population is happy with the way the government operates, right?
That's dutch, right?
Decades ago I had a lot of German, seems similar and though I forgot a lot I could read some of that.
Is German and Dutch a little similar?
