This is a debate stricly about whether gay couples should be discriminated against under the law. Period. How does restoring gay people's equal rights under the law "conflict" with anything or attack some sort of "tradition" or "definition"?

Funny you should mention IA because three of the SC Justices who forced this down the throats of Iowans were sent packing.

"How does restoring gay people's equal rights under the law 'conflict' with anything or attack some sort of 'tradition' or 'definition'?"

What right previously existed under the law and how was it lost such that it now needs to be restored?

And that's why the founders of this country were smart enough to realize that judges should be appointed and not elected; unfortunately some states were not so cleaver. The judiciary should not be a political branch of government.

Silencing hate speech in schools is a great thing. Sorry that you don't think so.
So maybe you should just move to a place where there is no freedom of speech. You might be happier. Then again you seem like the type of person who always finds something to be mad about.

Obviously you don't kow what you're talking about, as far as Christians. Thou shalt not kill ring a bell?

Burn the books!! Burn the books!!!!

how about the bullying of this speaker against christain teens? seems like the speaker could do with learning some of his own lessons.

If you had attended school you'd know that freedom of speech seldom applies there.

The question is why does it make you, I presume a Christian and therefore part of the dominant religion in this country, feel entitled to shove your beliefs down other people's throats? This isn't a theocracy, as much as you'd like it to be.

Hmmmm, so there are inconsistencies in the Bible? Who would'a thunk it!

And wouldn't it have been great if the would-be journalists who left the auditorium had stayed and written that story. But since they left because of critique of the Bible by a Catholic, they forfeited their ability to respond to what he said because they weren't in the room when he said it.

I have attended school, private and public. Silencing any speech is a bad thing.

I wouldn't like it to be a theocracy, if it were we would all be extremely bored. I am not trying to shove anything down anyones throats, you're mistaking me for a bible thumper (they're, mostly, crazy). If you don't like that Christianity is the dominant religion, MOVE! Go somewhere where everyone is just like you.

Again you obviously know nothing about Christianity. You are taking examples out of the Old Testament, if you knew anything about Christianity you would know that Jesus came to rewrite the Old Testament, and he did.

Ironic considering the Hebrew never says "Thou shalt not kill". Perhaps it's you who don't know what you're talking about?
