I can honestly say that years ago, I was one of the 2.5 million, and my neighbor was damned glad I was legally armed. The person however who had broken into their home, and was burglarizing it, was not happy, especially since it was his third time, AND he was armed. All's well that ends well, he was put away, and I didn't have to waste a round on him, and my neighbor didn't have to clean up any mess, other than the damage that was done by the burglar.

And now, how many people have heard about Kennesaw Ga. They actually passed a law years ago requiring every head of household to be armed and have ammo, UNLESS they were against having a weapon, or legally unable to own one. One of the lowest violent crime rates in the nation, ranked one of the top 10 places to raise a family, a city with consistent growth. A far cry from what all the people were saying when the city first passed the law, whining there would be pitched gun battles in the street, and it was headed back to the wild west times.
Do you realize that the 2.5 million crimes prevented story has been debunked over and over. It would mean that 1.3% of the population has used a gun to prevent a crime and every year it happens again. There are no statistics to support this.

Do the math. I`m 58 years old and I should know dozens of people that have used a gun to prevent a crime. I don`t know of anyone personally that`s done this and I worked in heavy industry for 35 years with hundreds of gun owners. God forbid that we should ever become a country where a man can`t build a bunker and gun down his wife, daughter, dog, and cat and hole up until the SWAT team comes.
Whatever the case let`s see the DOJ stats that were given.

Exactly! And you have been dead for nine minutes when they arrive.
And the liberals think this is the way it should be.

I was at a concealled carry class yesterday and we talked about the case. The guy with the gun is a graduate of the same instructor. Outstanding instructor, I'm going to be going some more of his classes.

Just imagine if this had been in NYC, Chicago or San Francisco. How many more good people would have been hurt or killed since virtually no honest citizen can carry a firearm for defense?

Gun free zones = OSHA for criminals.

You know... really doesn't matter if it's 2.5 mil or 1. One person saved justifies the right to carry.

If this guy wasn't at this spot in time many other people could have been injured or killed. That one guy is statistics enough.

I personally know 2 people that have had to use a gun to prevent a serious crime.

While the 2.5million number is indeed high, I'd not be surprised if it's well into the 6 figures....which is still a lot.
