I read an interesting comment about bullying recently. It said:
"The function of the bully is driving the "weak" and "odd" out of the group to prevent that oddity from reproducing and thus weakening the group as a whole."
Does this mean that bullying can sometimes be a good thing? Do bullies actually provide a service to humanity by suppressing the oddballs of society?
I would doubt it, these days, due to increased mobility and socialisation...but it's an interesting explanation for why bullying is so common and seems to come naturally to most children.
If a wimp beats up a bully, the bully will get 5 more bullies to gang up on him, get a gun/knife, or get his parents to sue the kid's parents. There is no honor in fighting anymore.

Bullying, has been and always will be around. Its called the game of life. You dont have to like it but you do have to accept it. You can pass as many laws as you want to outlaw bullying but in the end it will still happen. Maybe thinking about it in that sense, it is a part of nature... survival of the fitest. Never thought of it that way before, animals do it, why would we be any different? Not saying its right, but it is another way to look at it.
No because a bully is a triumph of stupid over decent. I was bullied as a child and neither my parents nor school "authorities" did anything to discourage it. After adolescence when bullied I broke the bullies and hospitalized several. They wanted to terrify. I responded by nearly killing a couple. The bullying stopped for some reason. Ironically the "authorities" disciplined me for "excessive force". My usual answer was “What’s the problem? He’s still breathing, isn’t he?” The idea is to think about using force to respond to bullying. Then use it and use it well.
