A 2.3 percent tax rate is minuscule and embarrassing. Especially when you consider what my 8 person company payed on 1.9 million in revenue last year...
As a liberal, I am all for lowering taxes on business. It is taxes on the billionaires that I think is too low and needs to be raised.
There is no such thing as a "taxes on billionaires" in the US. We tax income without regard for the net worth of the taxpayer. If a billionaire goes out and gets a minimum wage job at Wal Mart, he would pay the same tax rate as someone right next to him, who slept in his car, living paycheck-to-paycheck.
Your use of mindless platitudes is an indication of a deeper issue in our national psyche that isn't good for America(ns)
Totally with you. Some argue that we shouldn't tax the "job creators". The job creators aren't individual billionaires, they're businesses.
Sure. And haven't most corporations been founded by people who are now billionaires often with help from people who were billionaires then (VC)? What is your message to the super-productive masses here: "don't invest your time and money cause we, your government, will take it anyway"? Sit and your ass and blow it all on drugs and booze cause then you'll qualify for welfare?

Which government would you be refering to? The one we were supposed to inherit or the one for sale to the highest bidder thanks to corporate cloaks of immunity writing their own rules/ paychecks/ terms & conditions of employment? I believe George Carlin refered to them as our 'owners'.
I generally support Democrats, but this is one area where I disagree with their policies. The U.S. needs to dramatically lower business taxes. If countries with strong social safety nets like Ireland and Austria can do it, certainly, we can too.
Yea, but then you get into an argument about statuatory vs effective tax rates, and it becomes clear that Republicans don't want businesses to pay ANY taxes whatsoever.
When Obama proposed cutting the corporate tax rate to 28% back in February, the Republicans actually got angrier and called it a tax hike. LMAO...there is a thread here in C-D...read it for proof.
Because you are NOT a republican, I seriously doubt you have any idea what a republican REALLY thinks. You only THINK you do.
You gross assumption couldn't be any further from the truth.
