"President Barack Obama’s deputy campaign manager got her facts wrong while she was trying to support the administration’s $193 million subsidy for a luxury automaker...That company is Fisker, whose auto-factory in Anaheim, Calif. produces a trickle of $102,000 Karma electric autos. Those autos are quite popular among Hollywood stars and other wealthy Democratic donors."

Republicans say Fisker jobs are in Finland.

Obama administration claims “The Department of Energy funding was specifically for U.S. jobs at U.S. facilities. Sure enough, the company is employing 700 workers in California and they’re planing to build a plant in Delaware.”

Not really. They're off by 40 percent. The company says they only employ 500 in California and only a handful of people work in Delaware (Joe Biden's state).

"The company is negotiating for more subsidy money."

Again, why is the Obama administration subsidizing a luxury car maker?

The luxury car, by the way. is the one that died during a Consumer Reports test.

Why would the type of car matter? Is someone jealous because she can't afford a luxury car maybe?

Who was it that wanted Hummvies for the military? The cost was so high, with the Pentagon's permission GM decided to make and sell some to the general public. Businesses who purchased them pretty much got them for free due to the tax subsidies. Talk about rewarding your friends. There is always a scam somewhere in government.
The Congress needs to get off of it's arse, and get this crap under control.

I would guess that the main issue is not jealousy, just anger that more of our money is getting flushed down the toilet. Is someone in favor of flushing money down the toilet?

Oh, sorry, rhetorical question. Democrats did not have to jump up and answer "Yes!"

Must be a slow news day where the person who posted this silly response is from. Only 500 jobs, as if that's an insignificant number. If Romney had been President when the decision was made, GM would have collapsed and a hundred thousand or more jobs would have been lost. Try that one on for size. Okay, let's pass-out the aluminium foil hats now.

We already beat this topic to death before in a previous thread a month or two ago.

It isn't. You too can take advantage of it. Work hard.

It's simple really, Obama thinks the duty of the president is to pour borrowed taxpayer money directly into the businesses and pet projects he personally likes, and to punish those businesses that he personally dislikes.

According to Obama, one of the primary functions of the presidency is to upset the private market and force it to engage in activities that please him personally.
