Yeah, but now, they have better tanks, cars and pan avian planes! Also, they don't have a funny autocrat with a porn style mustache anymore. Greece would be asleep during the invasion, Italy would role if for no other reason than to get an injection of dirty guys in leather pants....dieter, we dance!.....and the French? Well, they are always surrendering to someone or some thing.....

Germany taking over? Nah....it's easier for them to take Greece to the wood shed economically....actually feel sorry for the greecians trying to negotiate that one....going to a gambling casino with a quarter in their pockets....Greece should just surrender over principle and beg the Germans for help.

Would save lives and keep costs to a minimum. Quick, someone call Greece and tell them to surrender. A phone call with a threatening voice should do it. They're toast.

Not at all. Germany is contributing to the problem. It helps that they pursue these ludicrous austerity measures because it drives investors to safe have German bonds. The austerity that Germany demands is killing growth in the euro zone and driving countries further into recession/depression. We shall see what happens now that somebody with a more sensible economic approach has been elected in France (the UK has also rejected conservatives all across the country).

Well, if their neighbors will stop demanding money from them, they will stop demanding austerity measures. The core of the problem is not Germany but the rest of Europe who love to spend other peoples money.

"Germany should just invade the rest of Europe now".

With what army? US forces? The German military is much diminished today. It is nothing like the feared and respected Wehrmacht of the past.

It also doesn't have any nuclear weapons, the only countries in Europe that have nuclear weapons are Britain and France.

The only consequence they had was USA and Russia. You really think France or anyone in Europe could put up a fight, let alone do something for more than 4 hours without breaking a nail or crying?

Where are Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal and soon France getting the money to thumb their nose at austerity measures?

And they will never be used.

The environment trumps sovereignty.

Thats not exactly been a winning formula for Germany in the past.

This whole thing with having a good economy and a huge middle class really seems to have worked a lot better for Germany than flailing about invading countries ever did.

I don't see them going back to the losing strategy any time soon.
