in other words if 2 people live together for 4 years in MA and break up it doesn't count as a divorce but if in SC the first time they live together is after marriage and they divorce after 2 years it counts as a divorce.

I love how the right is all about "less government" and "more personal freedom," until the freedoms are granted to somebody they don't like. I'm constantly amazed by the hypocrisy coming from the right, and also from the left to a slightly lesser degree. I hate US Politics these days, and if the ignorance on this forum is any indication of our nation as a whole, I'm beginning to hate the American people too. And before you suggest I leave if I don't like it (a very un-American and childish retort), I've been dreaming of that for years. It's just not as easy as you might think, and the only place I could easily immigrate is Israel - which is too hot and theocratic for my taste.

read the court case and the ones it cited and you'll see that this is irrelevant because the right was based on procreation.
