I always find this one interesting of "just dont go" if it offends. At its core this argument is I want to stink up the place **** you. The only one I disagree with is bars that are just bars.

Arguing individual liberties with a socialist is futile. Your rights are irrelevant, only the rights of the "whole" matter to them which is just clever application of dictation as they excuse the violations of individual rights to promote their so called "collective rights".

I'm fine with that as well. I'm also fine with planes, trains buses, and government offices, OK hospitals too. But a bar? No! Outside in a park? No! Walking down the street, or in an open air stadium that was funded by smokers? No!

I dont even have a problem with stadiums if a smoking area is provided. Its the no smoking , no re entry that pisses me off.

With the attitudes on this board I can only guess that within a short time all restaraunts will be forced to offer certain foods on their menus. We couldn't have people walking into a ribs joint wanting French cuisine. Of course people are unable to understand that the restaraunt is catering to a select group of the population. That would be wrong.

Ever go to a casino with a no smoking area? Lets just say, no matter how full the place is, you can always find empty seats in that area. Yet a non smoker can go into the smoking section and ask a smoker to put out their ciggarette. It's all about control.

I understand your point, but here in Cleveland when they started building the new ballpark for the Indians, and the arena for the Cavs they enacted a sin tax in Cuyahoga County and hit up the smokers and drinkers. I don't live in the county, so I try to avoid buying beer and cigarettes there. Then, when the Browns were coming back to Cleveland they extended the sin tax to fund their new stadium. So, I have a bit of a problem asking smokers and drinkers to pay for them, yet having all of the restrictions.

I spent the first 25 years of my teaching career sitting in faculty meetings filled with cigarette smoke. And eating lunch in a faculty lounge/office filled with cigarette smoke. I'd come home from work and my hair and clothes would stink of cigarettes. No thanks, I would never want to go back to those days.

My response to that person would simply be the finger. You and I agree. It's all about control, moreso than actually caring about others.
