Why do Americans not realize that our economy sucks. The dollar is at an all time low.
I travel in SE Asia a lot, the dollar hasn't been this low since the mid 90's. Something like 1994.

It actually helps us tremendously. Canadians come to Minneapolis to shop for tax-free clothes and food items. Spend a weekend at the Mall of America, see how much you end up spending. They stay in the hotels, they do the city. I have never seen so many Winnipegers in my state....I'm liking the new status quo.
The only poroblem is that it comes at the expense of our communal economy. But Bush wanted to go global anyways. What better way than to kill the economy. We like to compete at the bottom, with China and Mexico. |

when I moved here from australia in 2001... One Aussie dollar bought 50 US cents.. now its near 90cents...ack!
good for exports... too bad all our manufacturing jobs moved to india.. and china...
all it does and put a pincher on working american families and being able to afford the things they need... It wasn't too long ago when you could buy a brand car for 5 or 6k..
those same cars seem to be in the 25k range now.... match wages with that kind of inflation.. and you get the picture...
Both Parents are forced to enter the workforce and its destroying our society.... when it gets bad enough where children have to start working.. then we'll be back in the same position we were in durring the industrial era.. we'll all be like the irish and italian immigrants... slaves to our jobs.. while the Rockafellers laugh all the way to the bank...we'll all be sitting back complaining about how socialist policies are evil... when it was those very socialist programs that saved many back in that time... and we fail to even recognize it
