I think you meant to write; "opposed by the voters after they were brain washed by the GOP via the media, that it never went anywhere."

Here in Massachusetts we actually take care of the poor with free healthcare called Masshealth. I was on it from 18-19 and I only had to pay $30 a month

What you complain about (" it is sickening to me that my doctor and hospital can't charge anything more than what Medicare will pay if they want to get anything from them") is exactly the way insurance companies operate. If you are a doctor and want to participate in an insurance plan, you must accept the insurance company's schedule of payments.

The hospital can certainly stop being a Medicare provider and charge whatever they want but half their beds will be empty, as seniors are a major customer base for hospitals.

Listen to this explanation from Dick Morris.

Obamacare will be making huge cuts to Medicare advantage that as many as 12 million seniors use. It is set to go active a few weeks before the 2012 Election but Obama postponed it to a few weeks after the election.
Dick Morris calls this extremely cynical. He is going to attempt to fool a bunch of seniors to allow them to go to the polls in 2012 not realizing that they will be receiving a letter indicating cuts to their plans a few weeks after the Election.

Dick Morris: Obama's Dirty Obamacare Trick
doesn't Congress have to vote on it?

You might want to review the TOS. Some posts get deleted for discussing a poster instead of the topic.

Medicare Advantage Plans are (1) Only available to seniors who have no significant health issues or no a history of health problems. For the large majority of seniors no I repeat no insurance company will even offer them a chance to buy this enhanced form of Medicare because they are considered health enough. (2) Medicare Advantage Plans allow the insurance companies to bill Medicare to the maximum legal limit regardless of any real spending on the client. Its a vacuum cleaner stuck into the Medicare funding pool and in my view is as big a piece of healthcare fraud as the 18,000 dollar Hoveround motorized scooters which as the commercial says you won't pay a penny for it, Medicare pays for it all! We need to throw Medicare Advantage like this delux gold plated scooters in the trash can of history.

I'm sorry, but the old people of this country were the founding fathers, of you, me, and worked extremely hard all they're lives...they were not like the young brats today who think everything is owed to them and entitlement is a benefit package where anything goes, as long as they don't have to pay for it. People before this generation, were way to proud to take anything from anyone, and if they couldn't afford it, they didn't buy it. They didn't live on credit cards...they abided by the law and respected it...they were conservative and lived they're lives by example. They believed in mom and pop businesses and promoted them by being loyal to them, and they knew all about the word loyalty. Back then you could purchase items on a hand shake, and the local businesses knew they'd get paid. So, in my opinion, take nothing from the old people...actually they deserve much much more. I've seen how old people are treated by our instituitons...how they're cared for or not....it is a disgrace to this country...that we give illegal immigrants so much...and our old folks still have to pay taxes after the dedication they gave us.
