You may not be trying to convert but you're doing everything to make everybody follow your personal rules.

If doesn't matter whether Judaism is opposed to same-sex marriage or not. You don't expect everybody to be a Jew, right? So, there are bound to be folks regardless of religion, who should not be subjected to what a Jew does or does not do. Even your favorite country, Israel, recognizes that fact. Or, should it be more like Uganda or Islamic countries that will not accept same-sex relationships? But then, you sorta suggested that.

I wouldn't bother at all debating this.

Logic always flies over the bible or in this case, Torah boosters head's.

It just doesn't work that way.

Judaism is against it for the whole world not just Jews.

Uganda is much better then Isreal on this because they don't have a activist supreme court. If the US would force Israel to replace a few members from the court most of Israels biggest supporters (this includes secular Jews) would agree. (if they were shown a few decisions)

no Israel has a court that would kill every single religious Jew if they could get away with it

Your not going to expect the majority of the worlds Religions to go for Gay marriage. Religion created what we call Marriage today. Since they created it, it really is in their hands to determine what Marriage is. In the states eye it should only be a Contract devoid of sexuality.

If the fool had a brain, he would know he got elected to DO THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE, and not what he wants.

he believes his vote in favor of the landmark gay marriage legislation would have severely hampered his chances in a GOP primary this year.

Good riddance to another politician who thinks he can do what he wants and to hell with the people who put him in office.

Aww yea, you want the current government system that we have. The one that's not working.
I rest my case. Apparently, you hadn't heard that we put people in office because they say they want what the people want. When they stray from what the people want, they're outta there! It has nothing to do with 'party line' and has everything to do with the wishes of the voters. People vote for those who have the same personal beliefs. This guy failed! His personal beliefs do not trump those of his constituents.

I am not expecting religious zealots to respect individual freedoms and their rights to secular government policies, so EVERY person can enjoy freedoms based on their choice, not that of a religious establishment, or an establishment in general.

It ain't about asking religious establishments to accept it or not. It is about asking religious establishments to stay out of public matters, in government policies. Even countries like Israel can figure that out. Is that bad?

Well, so did Nazi Germany. Homosexuality came with qualifications for a "pink triangle" badge. And if that gay person happened to be a Jew, a pink star of David. Of course, they didn't stop with that, since they didn't have to deal with such activisim you speak of. Consequently developed quite an imposing structure, so I will let you study them yourself.
