James Buchanan was rumored to have been gay. Washington insiders back then referred to him as an "Aunt Nancy".
Yeah. He was Aunt Fancy. his vp,Rufus King was nicknamed Miss Fancy. By Andrew Jackson i believe.
On a side note, the great liberal icon Bill Moyers was on tape disparaging Jack Valenti to LBJ,for supposedly being gay.
Considering he's a gay or bi-sexual himself, color me surprised.
You forgot Obama is also a secret Muslim / Nazi / Communist / terrorist who is hell bent on making every red blooded American male dance to ABBA's "Dancing Queen"!

The Muslim and communist part has never been a secret..
He did nothing, he has no power to do anything. Saying he supports gay marriage has no more power than saying he supports basketball....
The decision is not up to him.

James Buchanan was the only US President to come from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. You can visit his beautiful mansion "The Wheatlands" in Lancaster, PA which is now a museum dedicated to him and his ... umm ... er ... lifetime partner ... who was ... ahem ... another "lifelong bachelor" William Rufus DeVane King.
Yes they were nick-named "Miss Nancy" and "Aunt Fancy" but most historians are not quite sure who was who and if both names referred to President Buchanan. They were acknowledged as a couple in Washington, and Andrew Jackson reportedly stated that they were "the happiest married couple in Washington."
Although a brilliant and articulate lawyer, legal scholar, diplomat, and savvy politician, Jamie Buchanan was a weak and ineffectual president. In fact with the crisis of slavery and Southern Secession, Jamie couldn't handle these problems. It is said he hated being president, and couldn't wait to get out of the White House.
Oh, and William Rufus DeVane King was NOT President Buchanan's Vice President. King was briefly Vice President of the United States under Franklin Pierce, but had to resign because of poor health.
More and more evidence is turning up that Abraham Lincoln had gay tendencies. Even as early as the 1920's and '30's one of Lincoln's most distinguished biographers, the poet Carl Sandberg, described Honest Abe as "having a streak of lavender in him." Well, it could be said that Lincoln was married and produced children, but the same could be said of Oscar Wilde and zillions of other gay and bisexual men and women. C.A. Tripp, a noted psychiatrist, theorized Lincoln was gay in a biography.
Not only presidents, but at least one First Lady as well: Eleanor Roosevelt, had very close romantic feelings for a woman friend. If fact her love letters have brought this relationship to light.
