now look at it this way, thay have practically banned cigarette smoking in all public places, then why not ban alcohol in public places!!! just think of all the lives that would be saved from people not leaving bars and resturants drunk. thousands of people die from drunk drivers, drunks with guns, drunks with attitudes..

i say no!!! but what do the nanny staters say???

it's pretty much over with, why whine about it now? Have you been calling your lawmakers to overturn these bans? Campaigning house to house? People don't care anymore, it's pretty much a done deal and there's zero momentum back in the other direction, I don't recall a smoking ban being reversed in the past decade

I'm not in favor of banning drinking in bars and restaurants. No way!

How would such a ban "save lives"?

No.

There's no such thing as "second-hand drinking."

The reference to the smoking ban is non-sequitor.

If you are asking a question, shouldn't this be a poll?

Not so fast, are you not familiar with the concept of the 'meme.' A Bogie, Dean Martin, or Roger Moore throws back a drink and a whole generation is inspired to booze it up.

Pretty much the foundation of the $100 billion plus US advertising industry. It's real. Voila, second hand drinking. Why not ban this scourage before we all die?

No but there is a thing called drunk driving.

-edit------

Actually it's not comparable is it because those killed in the crash really had no choice did they?

Just to note I wouldn't support a ban.
