Bulldogdad, I think they are great for business useage but other than that I see no use in them. I am sure most of the people walking around town arent doing work, they are probably playing angry birds, "checking in" on facebook, etc...Its the few that ruin it for the people that actually are using the device to perform work. I just think society has become to dependant on them. If you want to know my opinion go to the smartphone forum, lol.

Kind of like banning cell phone use while driving. There are many that can safely drive and talk at the same time but there are more people that cant do both, so now we have that law. Again, the idiots out there are the ones ruining it for everyone.

For texting while walking on a public walkway. It isn't as bad an accident when two walkers run together as when one is doing the same thing while driving but is still very stupid to have happen.

I guess you can tell that I don't take part in texting while moving. Hell, I don't do it at all.

Yes thank you. Once there is a ban on using a cell phone in a car, it gets much easier to ban them on the streat under the same pretense (safety lol), next they will be banned in public.
What do you enjoy doing that we can go after?

In this day and age when someone can literally jump in front of a car, die, and have the family sue the driver and win, I dont blame them for passing this law as long as all injurys incurred while walking and texting falls solely on the victim.

Who needs a law to tell them to pay attention to where they are walking?
Those who do, wont regardless,so no reason to enrich the states coffers and penalize those who can do both at the same time.
Should we next ban the admiration of pretty women while walking down the street?

SHHH! Don't give the promoters of the nanny state any ideas Frank. Besides, I might be married, but I'm not dead. Just because you're on a diet, doesn't mean you can't look at the menu.

Fort Lee is a dump. I don't blame people for preferring to look at their smart phones.

A handful of examples don't translate into a need for laws that impact all.
