And how many did it require for NJ to ban holding a cell phone while driving?

In both situations there are hundreds that occurred that never made it into the news.

Who ****ing cares what people use smartphones for. They are not ruining for anyone. The only ones who cause trouble here, are the dumb politicans.

It's NJ, folks. That's what they do. Remember their attempt to ban "runny eggs" in diners?

You need a state firearms ID to buy a Daisy BB gun. I'm not kidding.

And people wonder why I view the government and politicians as a bunch of meddling buffoons who are either busybodies, sociopaths, corrupt, or all three.

There is also a town that it is illegal to eat in your car in this particular NJ town. Some of these laws are ridiculous.

They could do a lot more to help fight what I call the Giant Toddler Syndrome. Beyond texting or cell phone use while driving or walking( which is dangerous) they could:
Put a tax on to go beverages, maybe 10 cents. How many times do you see adults with sippy cups( coffees, lates, slurpees, sodas) walking around drinking from them and then find the empty containers abandoned? They scarf food as well.
Sales taxes of a few extra dollars on cell phones, Ipads, Ipods, gameboys, walkmen and of course ban them all while driving. You used to see children carrying around toys to keep themselves distracted now adults need constant diversion and their toys.

Americans like the word "freedom". It is defined by Republicans and Democrats as "Anything I support". Most of them don't actually have a grasp that freedom might mean that somebody might smoke something they don't like or watch something they might not like or eat something they might not like or even just not be groped by airport security or have your dog shot by some overzealous police officer.

I remember Rudy Giuliani once said (completely without intentional irony) is that freedom was obeying elected officials and civil servants.
