Captain frickin Obvious.

I'm still trying to find the broke corporations that are taking applications right now. SMH

Those companies that have money have money because they have CONSUMERS providing the dough.

I do not subscribe to the trickle down theory...... it makes sense in concept, but in reality, greed takes over

We're in agreement.

everyone lost money. When you lose money you do not hire more people. So were there still rich people , yes were they going to hire more people as they were losing money, no.
however the people and companies who ha money were a better chance to get a job then the homeless

We're not talking about everybody. We're talking about rich people in existence (or not) when the economy was losing over 4 million jobs in a year. Did they? Were they suddenly poor and rich again? You need to address that.

The rich who lost money did not create jobs because they were losing money

They both do actually.

Consumers create jobs by consuming in excess, which creates demand for more goods and services and that increases jobs.

However, it does not create that many jobs.

The "rich" create jobs by providing Capital in the form of cash.

3 guys and a gal, all unemployed/laid-off/can't find work are tinkering around in a garage (literally). They come up with an idea.

They needed Capital to get started. Who provided the Capital?

The government? No.

The banks? Nope, not in this case, and certainly not the $Millions needed for this particular start-up.

It was the "rich" and in particular, a certain class of "rich" people called "Venture Capitalists." Those people are high risk takers.

I'm talking about Qualcomm. Qualcomm is in business because the "rich" provided the Capital for Qualcomm to create jobs....

....11,200 jobs.

Consumers do not create that many jobs. Your excess consumption of condoms might result in adding a 3rd shift and the hiring of maybe 40 to 120 people, but not 11,200 people.

Your excess consumption of lattes might result in Starsux building a new facility to make the neighborhood that much more uglier, but they'll hire what? 14 people maybe?

So do the "rich" really create jobs?

Yes.

Who do you think bank-rolled Apple and Microsoft?

The government? Nope.

The banks? Nope.

It was the "rich."

Apple....20,186 jobs

Microsoft.... 89,809 jobs

You have an idea, and to get your idea going, you need $6 Million in cash to acquire a manufacturing facility, rent or purchase equipment to manufacture your product, pay for all of the regulatory licenses, permits and fees that are required, hire employees and cover their wages, benefits and regulatory obligations (like Social Security and Medicare), pay for advertising, pay for distribution, etc etc etc.

Is the government going to give you $6 Million?

Hell, no.

Is any bank going to give you $6 Million?

Hell, no, (but that might be possible if your personal credit was immaculate, and your business credit was immaculate and you had previously set up and run companies and had an history of success).

So where is that $6 Million going to come from?

The "rich."

Any questions?

Reality bites....

Mircea

According to our resident conservatives, rich people must be the Chinese and Indians.
