First off the last two are not running the show, where as in the GOP the Tea Party bunch (not the same as the orginal tax focused group) are starting to run the show, funny thing is they are runing a neo-con as their candidate, and don't get me started on the Paul crowd and the Santorum followers. The major difference is the nuts in the Democratic Party have always been there and the different factions have learn to work together and that is not the case with the Republican Party. Don't believe me, go to the Elections section of ths board and see the infighting amoung fellow Repubs, if you did not know it, one would think they belonged to different Parties. No, there is a major reforming of the GOP coming in the near future, as to who will hold the Party and who will break away is still to be determined. As for my point of view, I see it as a good thing, since as an Independent I would love to have more than one choice when it comes to voting once again, but as it is is now that is rarely the case and in the Presidential race currently going on I see no reason to replace a sitting President with someone that is in my opinion a Liberal Republican (RINO), many Indes will see it the same way. I still have hope that the GOP can resolve their issues but reform is and will be required for them to right their ship, we shall see what happens, I think it will happen sooner rather than later.

Then you better get control of your nuts that are making the most noise, people judge a Party by those doing the most talking. Go spend some time on the Elections Section and get back to us on how moderate your Party is these days.

Ask Richard Lugar, a moderate, just how "moderates" run the GOP.

Does the Norquist No-Tax Pledge Violate the Congressional Oath of Office?

There is no question that any candidate or elected official can declare opposition to any tax increase and vow never to raise taxes, but there is something about a written commitment initiated by a private group that troubles me.
Judge H. Lee Sarokin: Does the Norquist No-Tax Pledge Violate the Congressional Oath of Office?

I started a thread over a year ago asking the same question, " how can you take an Oath to a political or private party that over rides the Oath you took to this Country and claim that it doesn't violate your Oath of Office".

Let me cut through the crap for you.
Conservatives want far smaller government in every way and far less great society. Those interested in growing the 15 trillion in deficit to 30 trillion are going to get retired if possible.

That's all it is. We need people practicing politics in power the way we do our own families. Make a bill, pay a bill. No kiting of checks.
If WE operated the way the government did we'd be in jail.
