Well here is what the agent actually had to say about the bio:
"This was nothing more than a fact-checking error by me -- an agency assistant at the time," Miriam Goderich, who worked for the literary agency Acton & Dystel, told Yahoo News. "There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii."

As late as 2007
In April 2007, two months after Obama had launched his presidential bid, Dystel was still touting the then-Democratic senator from Illinois as “born in Kenya.” Shocker! Obama still ‘Kenyan-born’ in 2007

HuffPo debunked anything. I think it is more like HuffPo was debunked. A great source to debunk with.

So, let's get this straight. The actual person who was responsible for the bio admits that they 1) made an error and 2) did not obtain or confirm the info from Obama himself....and now that person is a liar.
Oh and the interview is from Yahoo News link via HuffPo....although that changes nothing about the validity of the info.

The bio also says that he was raised in Indonesia, Hawaii and CHICAGO. He also was not raised in Chicago. That is another error in the bio....BOOM!

No, the person lies. There is no way Obama did not have to approve the bio before print. I am nobody and I had to sign releases to approve my words going to print.

It's not evidence that this was a poorly fact-checked bio, it's evidence that Obama had missing childhood years in Chicago that he's never disclosed! Where's the long-form Chicago rental records?!?!

You also are not a busy public official who has their staff sign off on things of that nature. No one cares that you had to sign off on the kid's Happy Birthday sign from Kinko's 5 years ago.
The person responsible for the error provided an explanation but once again the birther conspiracy nuts are turning it into another one of their BigFoot/UFO/Ancient Alien/Loch Ness monster sightings

Oh my gawd...don't get them going on that one
