So why would an agency assistant pull this "fact" out of the air?
The logical conclusion is that Obama lied about his place of birth for whatever combination of reasons...likely to give his fluff-piece of a book a more exotic cachet. Either he wasn't born in Kenya but said he was back then, or he's just kidding now about being born in Hawaii. The problem he has is that either way, he's a liar.
The bio also stated that Barack Obama was raised in Indonesia, Hawaii AND Chicago, which was also incorrect. So stating that he was born in Kenya was NOT the only error in that bio. So did he also lie about being raised in Chicago? Is that going to be the latest conspiracy theory of the birther nuts that he is somehow hiding being raised in Chicago?

tip o'neil's bio lists him as becoming speaker in 1976. close ( jan 4, 1977 ) but still inaccurate.

Well that makes Tip O'Neill a big ole LIAR. We need to investigate because obviously if its in this pamphlet that means that he lied about when he become speaker. He tried to trick us. Was he even born in America? Hmmm, O'Neill...probably born in Ireland. Someone get me his birth certificate, NOW....that liar!
Who knows if he even read the bio? I mean we know that folks like yourself have all the time in the world to sit around and read the National Enquirer and all of the other gossip rags while eating bonbons but Barack Obama actually had a busy schedule as a senator with a staff to manage, etc. So I'm sure that he wasn't micro-managing every bit of minutia about an insignifigant bio.

Yes - we now have to invalidate every piece of legislation that was passed by the House while he presided over it!
The source of the errors in the bio has been explained by the literary agent's assistant who made them. MOVE ON.
