The party most hurt by the ad was MoveOn.org, which marginalized their ability to significantly participate in the upcoming elections. I think that they probably need to disband, I don't think this is an action from which they can recover.
Regarding the condemnation from Democratic candidates, I doubt this moves a single state in terms of eventual election outcome. I think Obama's failure to vote will somewhat hurt him in the primaries, he comes off looking like a coward.

I will say good for them for doing that. Of course Hillary didn't support it because she was one of the ones that attacked him by saying "it would take a willful suspension of disbelief" to accept his report - called him a liar at worst or a partisan hack at best.

Good to see the Senate isn't wasting its time on any frivolous, meaningless motions, I guess they're ready to get back to important work like non-binding resolutions and pooh-poohing stupid, meaningless ads. I know I'll certainly go to bed feeling safer tonight.

it's always good to see moveon.org take a hit though, now if people will only realize their main goal...

ho-hum. How does that number of Democrat senators compare to the number of Democrat Senators who voted in favor of the Iraq war.

Does anyone actually believe that Petraeus hasn't faced far-worse adversity than this in his career? If there's something libelous let him pursue those responsible, if not. it's just more meaningless, paid for pap.
The only thing the Senate has accomplished is granting a degree of legitimacy to MoveOn, as in: "The Senate cares about what MoveOn does" It's about time people realize you can't legislate good taste or common sense.
Nice work folks!

Apparently you can't elect it either.
Congress... 535 reasons to support term limits with NO benefits and NO grandfathering tenure.

Not that I'm saying they're aren't any reasonable or level headed dems out there..but it sounds like political posturing to appeal to moderate voters prior to the '08 elections...

Moveon.org already alienated the far-left; now they've offended a general and moderate to right voters.
They aren't getting it right or left.
