Well this would make a tiff in the Middle East interesting, Russia deciding to weigh in on the side of Iran in a scrap with Israel +USA or the USA doing what Israel wants.
Now Israel would never take Russia on and would the USA take the risk of war with a nuclear armed power for the sake of Israel ?

Israel will be paid to stay out of it as they were paid to stay out of Iraq. This is a main reason the US is beefing up their defensive system with Iron Domes ASAP. The US has also beefed up offensive equipment in Saudia Arabia at the same time. So if anything, it will be the US and SA up against Iran and Russia. The rhetoric coming out of Iran is just a diversion. Russia has quantity and not quality as proven in its Afganistan war. Whats worse Russia does not care at all about casualties as proven by the numbers who died (on either side) in that war and in previous wars.

Yep, the Finns made the Russians pay. But they still ended up losing.
First of all, if the US engaged in a war with the Russians, it would not be nuclear.
Additionally, they likely have weapon systems that are far more advanced than what we have in the US, and they may have impenetrable defensive mechanisms.
So, no, there is no way the US would engage in a war with Russia. It would be suicide.
No. People in the public that have no understanding of geopolitical strategy and world politics and the media like to saber rattle and create unnecessary fears of other countries.
