"Romney’s praise for Whitman couldn’t have come at more inopportune time, as The New York Times reported on the same day that Whitman intends to eliminate 30,000 American jobs mostly through layoffs and forcing workers into early retirement. Even though Hewlett-Packard made a staggering $7.1 billion profit in 2011, Whitman is cutting these jobs in America while leaving Hewlett-Packard jobs intact in China and elsewhere"

China is a growing developing nation, where the US isnt anymore. Why would they make computers here, and then ship them there? Wouldnt you make them where the demand is?

That was my next thought. Right after, hmmmm, I wonder what HP would've done if California had elected Whitman governor. Selling CA the Chinese might be a good idea. They built the place anyway.

The USA is a bad place due to regulations that might have gone too far; lawsuits that you never see elsewhere; unions; Obamacare and so forth.

Very true, just like GE outsourced their jobs to other countries, despite the CEO being the "jobs czar". When I need programs written, most of them get outsourced to other countries. Not only do I not want to deal with "employees", but I also avoid any regulations that come along with it.

What's so screwed up with WHitman is the question. The answer is greed. Profits are far more important than people in the world of the 1%. You can barely fit a car elevator in your mansion on 7.1 billion.

I dont think thats true. I think when the government finally figures out they are the problem, not the solution, and they get out of the way, the middle class will find jobs, and then the demand for labor will require decent wages and benefits again.

Thats a long while off though, as many americans still stand around sucking off the tit of the govt..

What do you call one who runs around thinking they get to dictate what others do with their money, if not greedy?
