Real life parties REMOVED to make this generic

Scenario:

It is 2017 The president is the Yellow party.
The house is the purple party.
The Senate is 50/50.

Some random banking crisis happens and nothing happens in congress. Both houses are hopelessly deadlocked. The congress degenerates into fist fights.

Within a week the dow drops from 16000 to 800.
Layoffs in the multi millions are announced.

CONSTITUTIONALLY does the president have the power to remove congress, take over by decree etc?

Also recall that in case of a 50-50 split in the Senate, the VP then votes.

This is what happens when people don't pay attention in civics class.

The president does not have the unilateral power to dissolve the legislative branch.

50/50 splits the VP casts the deciding vote, and congress hasn't been a good ol' fighting place for a loooooong time.

Stop listening to the tin foil hat and doomer crowd, your life will be a lot happier.
