in 2012, Obama came out personally for the right of gay people to marry. He has not come out against DOMA. And he stated it was something the states needed to figure out.

However, you do have the other facts right. He was for Gay Marriage in 1996 and in 1998 when Shepard was murdered, then after that he became against it. now somehow Shepard who was freshly dead when he went from support to opposition, has magically swayed him.
Better get comfortable with this kind of thing for those of you supporting Romney. His serial flip-flopping will make your head spin.
