You guys don't get what the question is asking. There's a difference between "being" and "doing". Meaning the question is asking people whether they believe a person should be punished for "being" gay. They're not asking whether homosexual acts should be a felony. Looks to me that 87% saying "being gay" shouldn't be a felony. But the numbers would be different if you'd ask if the act of homosexuality itself should be a felony. Personally I don't think being gay itself should be a crime but the act of homosexuality should be.

As usual, you guys take things out of context. But this is the City-Data right? Millions of other people don't think it should be legal either. Just like there are millions of people who think interracial marriage should be illegal. Homosexuality wasn't legal in every state until 2003. However some states still have the law banning sodomy in their lawbooks but it's not enforceable.
