Why do we accept modern slavery?
We get controlled in school, work, church, military... pretty much any guided path that we are told to follow, we end up being controlled.
The truth about K-12 school is that it is TRAINING for the WORKERS. That's right, the purpose of school (95%) is basically about learning to follow directions. The other 5% is actually learning the good stuff. But hey, you graduate and have a paper to prove you are ready to follow directions.
Now, you enter the world of 8-5 and you follow directions from your manager/supervisor/boss. Like a robot, you arrive at exactly 8am and leave exactly at 5pm to join the others in traffic. If you don't, you get fired.
But at some point you get tired of it so you go to college. 4 years go by in college and now you are very, very good at following directions. So good that now you have 2 papers to prove it. So you re-enter the world of 8-5 and continue to follow directions from your manager/supervisor/boss. Only now you are in debt and stuck in traffic.
Sounds crazy? Sure insult me, it's fine. But think about it and don't kid yourself.
We are being controlled, yes, because we are forced to go to school, pay taxes, pay the high cost of living, pay student loans, attend jury duty, wear a seat belt (so you can make it to your 8-5 job OK).
So with that said, let's turn this into a positive post and come up with ideas to change the world (or at least the USA). Anyone?

Well said sir, well said.

And if your boss doesn't take care of his responsibilities, he loses his income as well. You do realize this right? We all have to feed ourselves, or we starve. Your boss isn't immune from this.
This is hardly a new phenomena. It's much easier for us now than it has been for most of human history. It's even easier than it is for a large portion of the world's population today.

Right, sorry I did not mean to imply otherwise. But you are right and that is a very good point.
It is no wonder why there is so much crime in this world too. Who in their right mind wants to be a slave and make someone else richer?
