Former Romney aide breaks his silence

From the article...

Quote:
In an interview with The Desert Sun, Grenell said: "The far left doesn't want a gay person to be conservative and the far right doesn't want a conservative to be gay. Some of the most hateful, mean-spirited intolerant comments about me being the foreign policy and national security spokesman for Governor Romney … were coming from the left."

"But it was the far right that gloated louder than the far left after Grenell's resignation. Leading the charge was the conservative American Family Association's Bryan Fischer, who called Grenell's resignation a "huge win for us."

But regardless, I have zero pity for him after Grenell mocked Rachel Maddow for "being too masculine and a lesbian stereotype, saying, 'Rachel Maddow needs to take a breath and put on a necklace.'" Something to be expected from a homophobic. Too much contact with conservatives, I guess, to think that such a thing matters.

Romney fired him for because he was gay. No matter how he tries to salvage his career, nothing will change that.

Sounds like he was the subject of attacks from both ends of the political spectrum.

Also sounds like he is happy to deal out the insults but less happy to be on the receiving end.

Nice try. Romney did not fire him.

Romney might as well as after the ringing endorsement he gave Grenell after the fact, calling him a "capable individual."

The actual people involved deny that he was fired, yet you don't believe them. Why?

Did he really believe that someone who served in that capacity for George W. Bush would be welcomed with open arms by the left?

Really?

Silly man.

And, based on some of the things I've read about his misogynistic words and views towards the secretary of state, etc. I think he needs to look in the mirror first before whining about anyone being intolerant.
