Using the theory and language of Marxism to explain social phenomena does not make one a Marxist.
Oh, so you aren't against indoctrination in the classroom as long as the indoctrination forwards YOUR beliefs. How one lives with this kind of hypocrisy is beyond me.
Are you suggesting that all education is indoctrination? I think when ones knows exactly what they are enrolling in and the political perspective of the individual instructors it is an informed decision, not indoctrination. Obvious with the vitreol you again use in a blatant personal attack, YMMV.
Often when one enrolls in a college course one is subjected to the personal political views which have nothing at all to do with the subject at hand. I experience this with a Marxist professor in my college upper-level Sociology classes. The professor in the OP's linked article and his methods seem very similar to my own experiences with biased professors who choose not to teach but to force their ideology upon students
I'd like to see some of those by example.Perhaps North Korea;fromwee USSR;and what we see happening i Europe perahps or even i out own coutn ry since the mid 60's with the wealth sharing?

There is a way to counter the Marxism preached on college campuses by Constitutional Conservatives educating the masses similarly. Here is but one example:
You are clearly advocating indoctrination via conservative ideology. Obviously you don't have a problem with indoctrination.

Using Marx in the context of sociology is not injecting one's personal views. Marxism is one theory (and a seminal one at that) that gives people language to explain social phenomena. Simple as that. Using Marx does not equate to advocating Marxism.
"There has been no shortage of partisan teaching in the news lately, but Professor Philippe Bourgois of The University of Pennsylvania may have just brought proselytizing from the lectern to a new low."
"Bourgois, a Professor of Anthropology at Penn, gave a public lecture recently slandering police officers, conservatives, doctors and America itself, all while encouraging and complimenting the teachings of Karl Marx. The rant took place in front of students on the campus of Bryn Mawr College, located west of Philadelphia. The talk was a panel discussion entitled ‘The Transformation of Poverty Governance."
This guy needs a mirror handy when he's talking about 'Schmucks.' Unfortunately, we are seeing our public schools overtaken with this kind of radical thinking.
Why was he even asked to speak? His field is anthropology.
