One would have to wonder if the reason this debate can't be held would have anything to do with the fact that the left leaners just don't want to see it happen.
I have always accepted evolutionism and been in some really serious arguments with those who think as I do on many things. It got so serious with one friend that we agreed to just not discuss the topic. Here is a discussion of the topic that makes a lot of sense to me.
Roy, if you're going to create a thread on "debate", it would be a good idea to debate rather than post links to right wing websites, and continually refer people to go read the link.

PLEASE pray for self. Others will do just fine without your prayers.

"Creationism" is not science, it is religion. The place to discuss the bible's account of the creation of the universe is Sunday School, not REAL school.
Evolution does occur, period. There is no doubt in that statement based on observation and the fossil records.
Does evolution explain the beginning of life? Maybe, maybe not.
In my research, and what I've seen, evolution explains the diversity of life after the point at which life began. It does not definitively say how life began itself, although there are some theorys based on that.
There is no scientific proof of a creation event. Just didn't happen from what we can tell. Does that mean creation didn't happen? No one can say for sure.
But we should teach evolution in the classroom, as how the great diversity of life on this planet happened, but as far as teaching how life began, we should explain that there are many theorys, and no one knows for sure, or not talk about it at all.
Its just that simple of a education question.

Well, exceptions exist. Many haven't evolved, as the evidence around here clearly suggests.
