The federal government’s debt has increased by about $1.59 trillion under Speaker John Boehner who has effectively enjoyed a constitutional veto over federal spending.

Wow!

What you fail to acknowledge is why this money is being spent. Although in each of the two years that the Republicans have controlled the House has passed a budget, the Senate has not passed a budget in three years. So the money being spent in the last three years reflects the budget priorities of the last Obama/Pelosi/Reid budget. Because of the failure of the Democrat-controlled Senate to pass a budget the only way to keep the government going is for both houses of Congress to pass a continuing spending resolution. In other words they resolve to spend at the same rate as the last duly passed budget. That's why $trillion plus annual spending, that was intended as a one-time emergency measure to shore up the economy, has become baked into the government expenditures year upon year. The Republicans acquiesed to this process only because they did not want to be blamed for shutting down the government--as Newt Gingrich was in 1995 in his showdown with Clinton over excessive spending. If you really are exercised over government spending work for Republican control of the Senate.

I don't fail to acknowledge anything.

The GOP House has voted through more debt than the first 97 Congresses combined, which is interesting considering a law appropriating money cannot be enacted unless it is approved by the House. Speaker John Boehner–has effectively enjoyed a constitutional veto over federal spending yet the debt continues to climb.

John Boehner can not just veto a bill, the majority of the house must do so, he is 1/435th, which is fairly far from a majority.
and so does the Senate, if they vote it down, then its dead.

So you acknowledge the House is without an effective leader.

Interesting.

The only thing interesting is the amount of embarassment liberals are willing to take on themself, in order to "take one for the team", to distract away from this administration..

one day, the GOP is responsible for the bad economy by not spending, the next they are responsible for over spending. Wow, the flip flopping is astounding.

No one said anything about a tax bill.

Article 1, Section 9, Clause 7 of the Constitution says: “No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law.” A law appropriating money cannot be enacted unless it is approved by the House.

It's pretty straight forward. The Republican-controlled House of Representatives, which took office in January 2011, has enacted federal spending bills under which the national debt has increased more in less than one term of Congress than in the first 97 Congresses combined.
