You don't like hin because the vast majority of Americans DO like him

IMO, it is YOU who are lost in your own imagination.

it is only overrated in your mind.

Ronald Reagan's Military Buildup

Basically Ronald Reagan was a defense contractor's wet dream.
After Carter decimated the military it had to be rebuilt.

Where talking about two different things. If the population grew which it did then it's possible for more people to live below the poverty level and the percentage of people below the poverty level could go down.

But if more people are living below the poverty level from the time Reagan took office unitil the time he left he clearly wasn't effective in attacking poverty, especially when compared to other administrations.

Here's an apple to apple comparison of two term administrations since 1960

Bush 43
Americans Below The Poverty Level
2001 - 32.907 million 2008 - 39.829 million - increase 21.04%

Overall Population Growth
2001 - 281.475 million 2008 - 301.041 million - increase 6.95%

During the Bush 43 Administration poverty INCREASED three times faster than rate of population growth.

Clinton
Americans Below The Poverty Level
1993 - 39.265 million 2000 - 31.581 million - decrease 19.57%

Overall Population Growth
1993 - 259.278 million 2000 - 278.944 million - increase 7.58%

During the Clinton Administration poverty DECREASED 2.5 faster than the population grew.

Reagan
Americans Below The Poverty Level
1981 - 31.822 million 1988 - 31.745 million - decrease 0.24%

Overall Population Growth
1981 - 227.157 million 1988 - 243.53 million - increase 7.21%
During the Reagan Administration poverty was relatively flat compared to population growth.

Nixon-Ford
Americans Below The Poverty Level
1969 - 24.147 million 1976 - 24.975 million - increase 3.43%

Overall Population Growth
1969 - 199.517 million 1976 - 212.303 million - increase 6.41%

During the Nixon - Ford Administrations poverty INCREASED about half as fast as the population grew.

Kennedy-Johnson
Americans Below The Poverty Level
1961 - 39.628 million 1968 - 25.389 million decrease 35.93%

Overall Population Growth
1961 - 181.277 million 1968 - 197.628 million increase 9.02%

During the Kennedy-Johnson Administration poverty DECREASED about four times faster than the population grew.

This is how deluded liberals are. First they talk about the myth of America and then summarily try to show how much better liberals are at bringing poverty down. All this in the same day while ignoring post-industrialization and claiming the military spending that Reagan moved forward with was a defense contractors wet dream. A few years after that wet dream suddenly there was an economic boom in things technology and to them that just appeared from the sky like a stork bring them a ******* baby...

Again, Bin Laden was part of those fighting against the Soviet Union (whom were the enemy of the U.S. at the time).

Now you may have expected Reagan to have a crystal ball to see into Bin Laden's future, but most people didn't.

Reagan essentially created the taliban, arming them and giving them US military training as well as this famous photo:

Let's also not forget Reagan doing illegal arms deals with Iran.

If it wasn't for Reagan, the problems we have with the middle east today perhaps never would have happened,...

FDR supported Stalin. So it's a little bit more complex than you're trying to present it here.

None of that changes the fact that Reagan's record on reducing poverty during is eight years in office was lackluster and his GDP growth was middling at best.

As for post industrialization was Reagan the guy saying "Trickle Down Economics" was going to benefit ALL Americans. The poorest Americans saw no tangible benefits.

You'll also notice that Bush lowered taxed and that didn't decrease the number of Americans living below the poverty level lead to significant GDP growth either.

Trickle Down Economics IS A FAILURE. The only thing it does is allow the richest Americans to stuff more money their pockets.

- Armed Saddam Hussein
- Armed the Ayatollah secretly
- Armed the Taliban
- Destroyed American manufacturing and our middle class

Right wingers voted in someone as stupid and shallow as themselves and get the last laugh as they get to mooch off us young people with the fat entitlements those "small government conservatives" want. Thanks a lot for screwing us Generation Me!

jojajn has been shown and told on several occasions that's a complete lie and jojajn continues to repeat it...
