I remember reading months ago that the wiretap applications were kind of a holy grail in the investigations because they would have had to detail the techniques used in F&F, thus potentially showing what higher-ups in the DOJ really knew.

This has been a slow process but it sounds like Issa is tightening the noose bit by bit.

Oh dear...looks like the holder DOJ has been caught lying again.

How soon before Romney picks this up?

You KNOW he will not leave this scandal on the table.

Why wouldn't he? Romney is no friend to gun owners. Nothing in government happens in a vaccum. While Obama/Holder/Breuer screwed up Operation Fast & Furious there is no reason to suspect Romney wouldn't have tried similarly to undermine the 2nd Amendment. Afterall, he did sign the Mass. AWB into law just weeks or days before the Clinton AWB expired.

Agree. Romney couldn't care less about F&F.

Neither could Speaker Boehner, Rep. Connie Mack, and a couple of other Republicans on the Committee.

Precisely why Romney is going to need a strongly pro-gun VP, and I think he will get one. Rubio, Jindal, Rice, and even Rob Portman are all strongly pro-gun-rights. I think Rice might be the most effective on this front given her personal story, but any of the above would do.

Again, Romney & Obama are on the same page when it comes to gun control. It won't matter if Romney has pro-2A Mitch Daniels picked for him by the powers that be. Obama/Romney policies are more alike than they are different.

Operation Fast & Furious stinks from the DOJ to BATFE, to the DEA, ICE, DHS, the State Dept. and the White House. Romney isn't looking to make enemies in high places. He will continue the policies of Bush/Clinton/Bush/Obama without batting an eye.

I don't see Romney running guns to mexican cartels to spike the violence and then get the media to report how horrible it all is to then turn around and try and force more gun regulations here in the US. That is what this whole scheme was put together to do after all. I don't see Romney going remotely there.

+1 and let's see if Romney will pick a VP who claims credit for conception of the idea of the 'assault weapon' ban or an AG who says that we need to 'brainwash' Americans into supporting gun control. Or a chief of staff who brags about 'bending' the law 'as far as we can' to ban guns. Don't think Romney will go there either.
