Am I the only one who sees a HUGE problem with this?!
Quote:
"Police in Colorado stopped 25 cars and arrested and detained 40 innocent people over two hours as they turned their hunt for a bank robbery suspect into a frenzied blind search.
Handcuffing every adult at gunpoint, the intersection of E. Iliff Avenue and S. Buckley Road in Aurora, Colorado, turned into a chaotic scene as police swarmed the area looking for the suspected robber.
'Cops came in from every direction and just threw their car in front of my car,' said Sonya Romero, who was one of the drivers who had been handcuffed by police."
Sounds a lot like Gestapo tactics. They stomped on the rights of those people and should expect a class action lawsuit. Unfortunately the police are probably immune to prosecution and legal action. <<shrug>>
consider the information the police have to go on. the cars may have fit a general description given to the cops for instance. and sometimes criminals switch cars during the getaway. perhaps the people themselves fit a description of the robbers.

They had NO description so they just arrested everyone.
Yep, the search was illegal, and will be thrown out, so the "bad guy" gets off anyways. The cops were worse than the "bad guy" here though for their gestapo tactics.
Some wonder why I have zero trust or respect for cops, and this is the perfect example of why...

I will always show an officer respect.. if I didn't they would have good cause to treat me badly.. best to keep it civil. Never seek trouble , it will find us on its own.
