Americans always want someone else to get screwed just because they aren't getting what the next man is getting. Public sector employees in my state have great bennies...but they aren't paid worth a crap IMO.

Jealousy...it's a hoot.
And here we go. There isn't a single job, which is in the "private sector" you can't find find a "public sector" job in. Computer specialists, doctors, dentists, real estate agents, et al, are ALL in the public sector. All of em. Its not just cops, fireman, and teachers.

If you wanted the "perks" you could have had them. You didn't want to go that route, so who's fault is that? YOURS.

Jealousy is exactly what it is. Someone else is getting something you aren't and people are getting mad. NO ONE said a word, when Silicon Valley was booming and the economy was humming along just fine. When that ended, all of a sudden, the world stopped. Public employee's are the bain of the world. Its ALL their fault. No, its your fault you weren't smart enough to get a different job.

Right from the lefty handbook.

I started hearing the "jealousy" remarks on msnbc and leftie talk radio the day after the election results.

We, the tax payers, are the ones who are being held hostage by public sector unions.

We reserve the right to Dictate their compensation packages.

I am not jealous of anyone, and I don't think others are either.

You deserve the "right." Remember this: You shall get what you pay for.

I don't see this public sector as anyhting different from what is happening in the priavte sector. Its just two years late. Locally they are basically just reducing by retirement and people who quit. No layoffs but a hiring freeze except for police/Fire who they are replacing retirements and police where turnover is always high.

Wow!

IF you are a taxpayer, you are one of the people who are contributing to the 'generous' benefits of public workers.

You have nothing against that, but a successful business owner who is finally getting rewarded for his hard work of starting up a business is a greedy POS? The left complains plenty about hard working people reaping the reward of all the effort put forth and risk taken.

Americans always want someone else to get screwed?... funny thing for someone on the left to say as they demand the people who pay the most in taxes.... paying in way more than the average Joe... pays more, because that is supposed to be fair.

It is the left that is jealous.

There are too many public sector jobs. They are a cost to the public. A taker of private property. Government is too big. The public can't afford it all.

People always talk about public employees as if they pay no taxes. If the jobs are so great in the public sector, just go get one or at least stop complaining about your own.

For most of my teaching career my private sector friends told me I was crazy to work for such low pay and lousy benefits, particularly my friends who worked for the airlines and banks. None of them commented on the unfairness of me, with an MS in computer science, making half of what some of them were making - and in return, I didn't whine about their high salaries and lavish benefits. I knew that I had made my choice and they had made theirs.

There are all kinds of public sector jobs - from janitors to system CEOs. Those who are bitching and moaning now about public sector salaries/benefits made a conscious decision to go into the private sector because, when they were looking for work, they scorned the salaries/benefits that were offered by public sector employers.

You who whine and blame public sector workers for all of your problems: Grow up and recognize that whatever your life is, it is of your making and if it is not to your liking, blaming your problems on public sector employees is not doing a damn thing to fix them.

Then you need to dig deeper into your pockets and give up all that you find in them.
