Two suspects are being sought. In the Zimmerman case, he wasn't being sought which is why it got so much coverage. How quickly folks purge details from uncomfortable stories.
Except Zimmerman has been "caught" and charged, and the case is still getting media coverage, nearly every day.
This is the P/C forum so it must have something to do with race even if the incident had nothing to do with race.
Hence the OP's unnecessary mention of the perpetrator's race - and the race of the victims. This is NOT about race, and I'm speaking as a former (and white female) pizza delivery driver. We always had to be on our guard, and I felt more threatened delivering to the trailer parks than the "hood." Just my experiences, YMMV.
P.S. We weren't allowed by company policy (I worked for Domino's, Pizza Hut & Little Caesar's while in college) to carry anything considered a weapon, including pepper spray... but I said "screw that" and secretly kept some pepper spray in my car. I wasn't about to risk my life over a crappy minimum-wage job, plus my father insisted upon it.

I carried pepper spray when I was a driver, too.
The one time I felt unsafe was on a Marines barracks on a Saturday night when half a dozen Marines surrounded me and badgered me to give them the pizza I had. I stood my ground and told them no in the face of increasing insolence from them and they eventually let me go. I was rather disapointed in those Marines. That was conduct unbecoming, IMO.
